Nice to meet you

Hi - I’m Jess! I’m a Toronto-based holistic nutrition health coach and certified hormone health practitioner. 
My goal is to help busy women heal from persistent hormone health issues to find balance and feel good.

This work is so important to me because I’ve been there.

I started my journey into health and wellness while working as a lawyer at a boutique litigation firm in Toronto. At the time, I was experiencing unmanaged stress, low quality sleep, energy crashes (looking at you, 3pm), sugar cravings, and had a diet based on ordering in and skipping meals.

I have a long history of following restrictive diets, pushing myself in intense workouts, and following hollow wellness trends I saw on social media. This all left me feeling burnt out and was having both immediate and long-term effects on my physical and mental health. Something had to change!

In Spring 2022, I enrolled in the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN). I started learning more about holistic health, how our bodies work, nutrition science, and the food industry.

Throughout my studies, I consistently found myself drawn to learn more about women’s hormone health - and the symptoms that so many of us experience as “normal” - painful periods, hormonal acne, PMS, bloating and burnout.

Hormone health is so important to me because I’ve experienced it first-hand.

I experienced issues arising from hormone imbalance from a young age - having to leave school because of painful period cramps, and PMS that left me feeling like I was on a rollercoaster every month. While hormonal birth control lessened some of these symptoms, it had a significant impact on my mental health and ultimately, didn’t resolve the root cause of my symptoms. Feeling like there wasn’t much I could do, I relied on heating pads and painkillers on a monthly basis.

It wasn’t until I started learning more about holistic health that I came to understand that many of my symptoms were signals from my body of an underlying hormone and blood sugar imbalance.

Listening to these signals, taking a root cause approach to healing, focusing on stress management, balancing my blood sugar, and prioritizing eating and exercising for my cycle have been so foundational in my health journey.

It’s my goal to help other women to do the same. An advocate at heart, I’m passionate about educating women about how our bodies work, empowering us to be in the driver’s seat of our wellbeing, and knowing how we can use diet and lifestyle to optimize our health and feel our best.
